New partner – a fish out of water?

Matthew, a new lateral-hire partner with exceptional technical skills, was aware that the role of partner in his new firm would contain certain challenges in terms of both internal relationships and external networking. We spread sessions over the first 6 months enabling several key relationships to be identified and examined in some detail and strategies to be developed to take them forward. This covered joint marketing and practical steps to be taken with clients and external intermediaries, as well as a programme of internal networking to raise his profile amongst other partners. Matthew’s concerns, which had existed at the time of appointment, disappeared and he developed confidence and a solid basis from which to create new business and cross-selling opportunities.
